Beer is a very popular alcoholic drink around the world, which is the reason why there are thousands of brands out there to choose from. However, you cannot go wrong by choosing to have a cold pint on a hot summer day, regardless of what brand it is. Granted, everything should be done in moderation, no matter how tasty beer might be.

Achieve 100% beer purity

MegaBEER is a jam game designed in just 48 hours in which your purpose is to fill a jug with beer and keep it as pure as possible. There are a couple of other objectives to watch out for, but they seem to be optional, at least if you do not mind missing out on content. In essence, there’s very little to do and it gets repetitive after a few minutes, but it’s still a pretty nice concept for a jam game.
To begin with, you have to move the jug around between four taps and avoid the green slime, otherwise your beer loses purity and it actually disappears from the jug. The taps randomly change between slime and beer, but only one can leak beer at a time, which is pretty annoying. On the other hand, it makes things a lot more engaging and fast-paced.

Solve a few puzzles by writing the answer

As mentioned before, you can also tackle a couple of riddles along the way, although you’ll have to take your glance away from the beer for a few seconds. Thus, the game displays a few questions you can answer by typing the answer on your keyboard. Whether you are required to write a word or perform a simple calculation, it’s much tougher to achieve when you also have to watch out for the beer.
Naturally, the game features pixel graphics, but they are actually quite detailed and pleasant, even if nothing ever changes in the background. It would be nice to see more levels, or at least to see more gameplay mechanics added along the way, but this is just a concept at the moment. Even so, you can get quite a bit of fun out of it.

A promising idea that could turn into a great game

Even if MegaBEER is far from being an actual game at the moment, the idea could very well be extrapolated in the future and turned into something much more exciting. However, this small jam version deserves a try as well.
