Description
Bubble Cat Adventures is meant to be a little upward-scrolling semi-puzzle game with a bit of maze exploration. It’s a casual creation that’s best served when there’s really nothing else to do or play.
A simple game with simple graphics and simple everything else
In Bubble Cat Adventures you’re a cat trapped in a bubble who has to make his/or her way out through a series of mazes that are filled with traps. Extremely summarized, the plot is about some kind of cloud creature with spike claws who wants to catnap all the felines in the world so it traps them into bubbles and pulls them towards it.
In terms of gameplay, all you have to do is navigate through a series of mazes using just the left and right arrow keys and occasionally collect some keys. Being trapped in a bubble, you ricochet off walls and that’s how you change direction. It’s a nice little touch that goes well with the fact that you have to avoid a lot of traps.
The kind of slow-paced that becomes tedious really fast
If you’re the kind of person who enjoys dynamic games, Bubble Cat Adventures is not something you want to play. You can try it, but the 20pixels/second speed at which the cat travels will get to your nerves. I might have exaggerated a bit on the speed part but gamespeed is really low.
Moving slowly is not necessarily a bad thing because it gives you the necessary time to think things through as you go but not having a means to speed up is not good at all. The mazes are fairly simple to navigate, not a lot of thought has to go into devising a path but things could certainly become a lot more interesting if speed was adjustable.
A casual game that’s worth a shot just out of curiosity
All in all, gameplay in Bubble Cat Adventures’s gameplay is totally anticlimactic but it is kind of relaxing. So, if you’re looking for a game that won’t put up much of a fight, you can certainly try this one.
