Description
Motorcycles have a pretty bad reputation when it comes to safety and the type of people that ride them, so it’s no wonder that you might get some weird looks when you mention that you like them. However, the new models are downright engineering wonders when it comes to speed, electronics, and safety measures to keep the riders away from danger.
Ride through the desert and go as fast as you can
Motorcycle Simulator is a video game with a rather misleading name, given the fact that it certainly doesn’t simulate anything, especially not the physics of a motorcycle. The term arcade is much better suited to describe it, but that would also imply the notion of fun, which is also missing from the list of ingredients. However, it can probably provide you with a few short minutes of entertainment, if nothing else.
To begin with, you play from a first-person point of view, which allows you to see the dashboard of the motorcycle. The action takes place on a very barren map in what appears to be a desert, so there’s nothing to see or do but turn the gas to the max and see how fast you can go until boredom eventually catches up with you.
Empty map and no one to race with
Although this is meant to be a free roam type of game, that only makes sense when the map is worth exploring, which is not the case here. In fact, aside from a few sand dunes and rocks, there’s nothing at all to see and no obstacles to keep you from going as fast as possible. On the other hand, the map ends rather abruptly, so you might fall off before you are able to break the sound barrier.
The graphics are nothing to write home about either, but they would certainly be the last thing one would complain about if everything else was in order. Thus, the repetitive gameplay and lack of objectives make you stop playing way before the poor graphics have anything to say on the matter. The sound effects are not worthy of a mention either, unfortunately.
Not the best way to get acquainted with the world of motorcycles
In the end, Motorcycle Simulator is not at all as advertised, and you would be much better off trying any other game in the genre. Hence, this looks more like an unfinished project than an actual game.
