Description
Bowman 2, as you can tell from the title, is about a man who knows how to uses a bow, not about a bow that has human characteristics. It’s a game in which you get to try out several modes that imply shooting arrows using a powerful bow.
Simple Flash game for anyone
Bowman 2 is a Flash powered game which means that any computer with Flash Player installed can easily run it, even if it’s one that’s full of dust since 2000. It comes with simple vectorial graphics and uses basic gameplay that can be appealing to anyone who’s looking for a casual experience.
You get to choose from multiple game modes such as ‘Vs Human’, ‘Vs Computer’, ‘Practice’ and ‘Bird hunting’, all of which involve the use of a bow and arrow. The versus options allow you to shoot arrows at another human representation that can be controlled either by the AI or by a second player.
Not the kind of game you play day after day
Bowman 2 is a game best suited for those times when you’re waiting for a better game to be downloaded. It’s nice and all, easy to play and rather fun to see how you and your adversary continue to shoot at each other while having a couple of arrows stuck in the head, torso or legs.
Gameplay is a walk in the park as you will only be using your mouse to set the angle, direction and force of the shot. From the moment you let go of the string, or mouse button, you hold your fingers crossed and hope it hits the target. You don't get to see your adversary while aiming and firing so most of the times it’s all about trial and error. Moreso, you can enable wind to make things even more difficult.
The most fun you’ll get out of the game is in Bird hunting mode, where you get to aim at unsuspecting digital birds that fly around minding their own business. If you’re skilled enough, you can land two birds with one arrow and even use gravity to kill them.
Ready, aim, fire, miss
On a closing note, Bowman 2 is a decent game as far as Flash builds go. It’s simple, player friendly and you can definitely get a few chuckles out of it. On the negative side, it’s really not a game you play for days on end.
