Trigger Saint

Trigger Saint is a nifty RPG shooter that initially stands out because of its appealing hand drawn graphics which give it a completely unique look. After a few minutes of gameplay, it hooks you into the action with its simple mechanics and wonderful atmosphere.

Save your homeworld from the invading army

Your character is nameless, and initially, the only things you know about him are that he can shoot a weapon that is powered by his spirit and that he can die really fast if you don’t pay attention.
Apparently you are the protege of the mystics who lived and trained to protect their floating city. They are magical beings, as most of the city's inhabitants, and they rescued you from the rubble left behind a great war. They created a power suit for you and trained you in the ways of the mystics so one day you will be ready to face your true destiny.
Soon enough, the Six Gods of Chaos have once again made their way into the city and plan to destroy it. Now, with a Kuna Musket in your hands, you must fight and defeat the enemy.

Simple and entertaining gameplay.

Visually, Trigger Saint is great. Character and enemy designs are really unique and even though the world around you is fairly poor in details or diversity, it still manages to surprise you from time to time with something new.
As you teleport to new levels, enemies become increasingly powerful and harder to kill. No worries though, across the levels, items are randomly placed for you to pick up and use. These can be one-time consumables or add-ons for your suit that really make a difference in combat. Your inventory is however limited to three slots, but if you want to remove an item, you can transmute it.
In doing so, it generates skill points which you use to upgrade your character’s main attributes, Musket Mastery, Life Mastery and Spirit Mastery.

A game that’s in development but worth your time

All in all, Trigger Saint is pretty much in its early stages of development with room for plenty of new content. But even so, if you give it a few minutes, it might just catch your attention more than you would expect.
