Right off the bat The Terrible Old Man looks kind of childish with its hand drawn graphics and basic animations but behind this appearance lies a game with a dead serious tale. Fiction of course, maybe.
The story begins with three men who are out to have a beer or two and talk some business over at the local joint. While there they spot a lovely woman who becomes their point of interest for the night until one of the men, played by you, overhears a chat between two fellas at the bar about an old man who lives near by and who is said to be rich beyond measure.
So, with no fear for the consequences of criminal activity, the three men set out to rob the old man.

Simple gameplay mechanics that work well with the story

The Terrible Old Man follows the traditional point and click gameplay. Your character, Joe Czanek, will move to where you click and he’ll talk to or interact with what you click. It’s as simple as that so you can follow and focus on the dialogue.
And speaking of, it’s best that you hear every little piece of what there is to say because everything is relevant to the story. Moreover, the more you know, the spookier it gets and it’s better that way because although this is a very short game, the way it ends is utterly creepy.
