Description
Pixel Fodder is one of the better surprises of this year. What looked like just another pixel-graphics platformer turned out to be that but with tons of additional things to like about it.
A simple looking platformer that’s anything but simple
Pixel Fodder is, in all its glory, an 8-bit pixel graphics 2D platformer with the gameplay you’ve certainly seen before. There are quite a few of these laying around the Internet, but this one has a distinct flavor.
Not only is the gameplay super smooth, the style of the entire thing is appealing. You get action-packed campaigns to play and a large number of seasons/missions to take on. In terms of content, Pixel Fodder has a lot to it and what’s nice about some of the levels is that they are inspired by other classic platformers.
Fight the forces of evil as a soldier, a robot, a knight or even Tesla
One thing that’s particularly good about Pixel Fodder is that you can swap between three characters while playing. As you kill enemies, you get in-game currency that you can use to purchase new heroes.
These range from simple soldiers to well-known characters such as Tesla, Jason Voorhees, and even Einstein. You can unlock and choose to keep them as they are, or you can further customize their look and weapons. Having the freedom to do so, you can create a three character loadout that can fight off any enemy force.
I mean, a Tesla with a lightsaber and a hat would be an unstoppable force next to a robot with a bazooka and a medieval knight with a machine gun.
An excellent indie creation that’s worth playing
Right now, Pixel Fodder is still in development, and its creator could use your feedback and support. So, feel free to visit the Pixel Fodder Greenlight page and give your 2cents on the matter.
