Description
The Sealed City Episode 1 is the first chapter in a story that pitches you as a Libyan agent who is given orders to check up on the status of a town located somewhere in the desert where research is conducted. You are not given any details about the kind of work that is being done there but as you enter the town, you find it in ruins, more than it should be.
A good looking game
The Sealed City Episode 1 packs some pretty good graphics considering it’s an indie action game. Attention has been given to plenty of details and overall, the atmosphere is eerie and it really helps to transpose you into the story right from the beginning, and the sound effects really keep you connected.
A downside to the game is that the environment despite being very interesting, is limited when it comes to how much you can explore.
Try to piece together what happened and stay alive
The Sealed City Episode 1 is created to be a horror game in essence, even though you don’t really feel that right away. It’s actually a good thing since the tension builds up as you play and the delivery takes place exactly when it should.
You get to see a bunch of weird stuff and your first encounter with what seems to be a human being will give you a bit of a scare. Not to mention that after that first encounter, things start to get tough as you will be permanently chased and attacked by a giant creature that lurks in the sands.
A decent FPS with lots of potential
On a closing note, The Sealed City Episode 1 is an above average game. It delivers appealing graphics and an interesting story. It does however have its shortcomings.
For example, in one of the many encounters with the large sand creature, you might find yourself thrown between a door and a wall and you can’t get out. Your only solution would be to load your previously saved game. It’s pretty much still work in progress but since it’s only the first episode, it’s definitely on the right track.
