SturmFront - The Mutant War

SturmFront - The Mutant War was described by its developer as a classic action game, and we have to second that statement. The game features retro pixelart graphics and the sort of animations you had in the 80s; add a trancy soundtrack and simple combat mechanics and you have a really good rendition of a vintage action game.

Tough as nails from the first minute

One thing you don’t really expect SturmFront - The Mutant War to be is hard. Well, it’s beyond hard without it being ridiculous. You play the role of a cyborg who is created by a scientist to eliminate the mutant threat that is plaguing the planet and enslaving humankind.
This is the future, and the technology is great and all, but it’s not perfect. It’s one of the reasons why your character constantly loses energy, and if he doesn’t recharge, it’s game over. Add the fact that it only takes two hits to destroy you, and you have a shooter in which you have to be extra careful.
Moreover, even though you have infinite ammo, as you shoot, your energy levels deplete faster so making each shot count is imperative.

Cool visual style and intense gameplay

SturmFront - The Mutant War looks nice if you’re a fan of Sci-Fi, mutants, robots and all that. The effects, enemies, powerups and so on, everything, says retro and everything feels right while playing.
One thing you’ll like about SturmFront - The Mutant War is the fact that if you get the idea of going guns blazing into the enemy force, the game turns into a bullet hell. It will take loads of effort to dodge all the incoming firepower and mutants that want to tear you to pieces. It’s an intense game.

An excellent game for indie fans

SturmFront - The Mutant War is great if you’re into indie games that use a retro approach to design and gameplay. It runs smooth, it looks good, and it’s really fun to play if you’re willing to try on a real challenge.
