Motorcycles are tougher to tame than cars in certain regards, although they are also easier to figure out in others. Hence, while cars feel very strange for a human to drive, motorcycles are much more natural, like standing on a horse. On the other hand, everything gets much tougher once racing is involved, because you need a lot of skill to even consider such a thing.

A variety of tracks and bikes to choose from

Super Moto Racers is a very basic racing game featuring motorcycles, in which your only goal is to participate in races and score as many points as possible. To do that, you have to aim for the top position, although almost every position rewards you with a few points if you aren’t dead last. There’s more to it than that, which is great if you want to keep playing for more than a quick race.
There’s also a career mode that allows you to play a succession of tracks and gain levels by winning as many points as you can. Naturally, these levels can be used to upgrade your bike and increase its stats, such as stability, speed, and a few others that affect its performance during the race. On the other hand, there are some things that have nothing to do with racing as well.

Kick your opponent off the track

As such, one of the more amusing additions to the game is the ability to kick opponents that come too close to you, which sends them into the nearest fence or tree. It’s not very nice, but then again everything goes in such a race. In fact, you can even use this ability as an offensive maneuver, because you can easily catch up with the AI and kick it off the track if you don’t want to deal with it anymore.
As for the graphics, the game actually looks quite decent, at least if you are not asking too much of it. The bikes are almost all the same, and the tracks look very similar as well, but everything comes together pretty nice. Granted, the sound effects are horrible, especially when it comes to bike engines. Moreover, the soundtrack is terrible as well, since it has nothing to do with the game.

An enjoyable experience for casual racing fans

In the end, Super Moto Racers is obviously not designed to compete with the pros of the genre, but it can still find a couple of fans in the casual crowd. Moreover, it’s funny enough to be entertained over short periods of time.
