Description
Galaxy Rampage is a local multiplayer game in which players have a single key available for controlling their avatar. Galaxy Rampage is proof that the only thing you need to make a fun game is a cool idea and an almost perfect implementation. All too often we’ve seen developers wasting a very good idea by trying too much, or games have the highest production quality but don’t have anything solid to stand on.
Not all the games need to provide users with hours and hours of fun, adventures, and replayability. We also need short games that bring people together even for a couple of minutes. Titles like Galaxy Rampage that can be played by multiple users on the same keyboard and provide more value than triple A titles.
Gameplay
First of all, players need to know that Galaxy Rampage is a completely free game, so what you see is what you get. The game is so basic that it might put off some people, but trust me when I say that you will love it once you hit the start button.
It’s also worth pointing out that Galaxy Rampage is a local multiplayer game, which means that it has no single player mode. In theory, it might be possible for developers to add bots and some sort of an AI, but there is no word on that. So, for the time being, at least two people are needed to play it.
Each player that joins only need to press a single button on the keyboard and gets a ship. Pressing that button changes only the direction of the craft, which is moving all the time by its own. Each craft also has automatic firing, and things get complicated really quick.
The goal is to destroy the other guys and to stay alive. The gameplay becomes more complex with the introduction of asteroids that float around and that can be destroyed, and various power---ups. Galaxy Rampage becomes extremely chaotic really quick, but the matches are short and incredibly entertaining. Given that it’s also a free game, there is no reason not to give this one a try.
