Description

A battlefield is always going to have casualties, no matter how experienced the two sides involved are. Hence, it’s obvious that people have all sorts of myths and legends regarding the places where battles have taken place. Naturally, most of these legends are about soldiers coming back to life and haunting the grounds until they find their peace.

Kill the zombies and survive for as long as possible

Afghanistan is a first-person shooter with survival elements in which the only goal is to stay alive and shoot the undead creatures that spawn out of the ground. As the name clearly implies, the action takes place in Afghanistan, which means that you are in the middle of a desert, with not much help around. On the other hand, there are guns that can help you stay alive.
The zombies spawn out of nowhere and they all charge at you the second they see you, which makes it difficult to explore or do anything but shoot the enemies. You can find ammunition and various other supplies as you keep going, but it’s also important to keep an eye on your character’s other needs. Hence, thirst and hunger become a problem after the first few minutes of gameplay.

Basic graphics and simple controls

Unfortunately, the survival elements make it difficult to enjoy the game for very long, given the fact that you are always struggling to keep the zombies away and your thirst levels up. There are very few moments when you are allowed to actually search for resources. In addition, the shooting mechanics are not very engaging either, because it feels like shooting a BB gun at cardboard cutouts.
Lastly, the graphics are quite poor as well, which means that there’s no joy in exploration either. Everything looks the same, including the environment and the buildings you encounter along the way. The sound effects are barely part of the experience, but that’s the least of the game’s problems in this state.

Not many reasons to play for more than a few minutes

In the end, Afghanistan is a very simple shooter with nothing special about it, and the survival elements actually hurt the experience. Thus, there are far better alternatives for you out there if you are a fan of the genre.
