Description
Underground Fight Club is an over simplistic fighting game that aims to appease players who are opening a PC for the first time.
Fighting games have a really long and proud heritage, so when some developers want to get a new game in this genre, they have some really high standards to live up to. As you can imagine, Underground Fight Club is not really aiming that high, so if you set your expectations really low, you won’t be disappointed.
Making a successful fighting game is a difficult task. You need good animators, motion capture technology, or, at least, a lot of time to get things right. That doesn’t seem to be the case with Underground Fight Club, which is probably built with the lowest possible effort possible. None of the resources I mentioned earlier have been used at any point.
Gameplay
There is no story attached to this game, so there is no need to mention it. Unfortunately for this game, the synopsis also uses the tagline “do not tell anyone about the Fight Club,†which is a direct hint at the famous cult film with the same name.
Judging from the variety of fighters, it looks like they wanted to have something similar, with the regular people posing as fighters. The animations would seem to indicate that these are not fighters, and they are just trying their best.
Players can either start a career mode, with increasingly more difficult fights. The AI just gets a little bit quicker and block better, but given the fact that players can’t jump, it’s not going to be a difficult task.
It’s possible to make combos that do a little bit more damage, but they are difficult to achieve. There is also a fatigue factor, so players won’t be able to just smash the buttons until they win.
The engine is not great, and the graphics are just terrible, but that’s to be expected when the game only has about 50MB. It’s the full game, but the installer displays an ad, and it tries to reset the home page, although it can be changed, so that doesn’t happen.
