Dressed For A Fight Out

Being in a fight is not exactly something to be proud of, at least not when it’s outside the ring. Real martial arts masters put a lot of work and dedication into their passion order to make it in various competitions from around the world. Luck rarely has anything to do with it, although there were times when one fighter’s mistake proved to be the other one’s lucky moment.

An inexperienced fighter steps into the ring

Dressed For A Fight Out is a funny arcade game in which you play the role of a woman by the name of Alice, who is forced to fight in a championship due to some weird circumstances. In short, the game is very simple in regards to gameplay mechanics, but it requires fast reflexes in order to win at it, because the AI is quite good at dodging your hits.
Although you can choose between two different characters, they are both named Janice for some reason, and there doesn’t seem to be any other difference between them. The other fighters differ when it comes to the moves they have and the type of hits, but timing is the most important element, because it doesn’t really matter how the other fighter hits you as long as you read the move and press the dodge button at the right time.

Simple graphics and even simpler controls

Your character can punch, kick and dodge, as well as perform a simple combo whenever you manage to strike back at the right time. Simply kicking your opponent is actually impossible, because any hit you throw whenever the AI is not attacking is quickly dodged. This makes the game harder, but it also makes it more repetitive and less engaging.
On the other hand, it’s quite clear that Dressed For A Fight Out is designed to be enjoyed for a couple of minutes at most, because even the graphic quality is kept to a minimum. The fighters and the backgrounds are hand-drawn, but they look more like cheap comics than anything else. The music is repetitive as well, although that’s the least of the game’s problems.

A great test for your reflexes

In the end, the most fun thing about Dressed For A Fight Out is the fact that it really trains your reflexes, especially if you make it to the later levels. However, it gets boring rather quickly, which is a bit of a shame.
