PACAPONG

You have the Pong paddles and use them to launch Pac-Man into his trademark maze. Pac-man quickly makes his way across the maze from one paddle and hopefully gets caught by the other one. Apart from pellets, Pac-Man can munch on little Space Invaders which trigger the appearance of real invaders on the opposite player’s playspace, who he must either dodge or shoot down.
Oh, and Donkey Kong makes random appearances to toss barrels at both Pong paddles. And yes, this game is real and plays out like described above. It’s called PACAPONG.

A great fusion that makes total sense and none whatsoever

PACAPONG is refreshingly clever in what it manages to do. It takes the core gameplay mechanics from three legendary arcade games and fuses them to create something entirely different and fun.
At first, it’s totally chaotic and you might lose yourself with everything that happens on screen. Not to mention that the game is almost lightning-fast and there will be plenty of ‘I barely managed to pull that off’ moments. Those are always great.

A solid concept that can go much further than this

PACAPONG comes with a minimalistic design that totally works in respect to the classics from which it draws inspiration. However, on some level, despite the fact that gameplay is solid and well polished, you can’t help but want a bit more from it.
I mean it’s great, it’s here, the concept is totally playable but maybe it would really benefit from improved visuals and sound effects. At the moment it’s all just swell but there’s that little voice in the back of the head that goes on and on about how this can be better.

It’s a simple game but it’s simply wonderful

On a closing note, at the moment, PACAPONG is probably one of the most fun things you can play. It’s three things most of us are fond of and seeing them together like this does more than put a smile our faces.
