Description
LaserAge Gold is a top-down arcade shooter with classic gameplay. You’re in control of a spaceship, and you have to defeat the waves of incoming enemy fighters.
Enjoy standard gameplay for the shooter genre
LaserAge Gold doesn’t come with any particular set of features to set it apart from other game of this sort. Except for the visual style, this shooter has nothing else in terms of originality.
You can switch between keyboard and mouse controls, we recommend using the mouse, and you can opt between windowed or fullscreen gameplay. The latter will be a mistake on modern PCs because the game’s resolution is very small and won’t work correctly when resized.
So, all that’s left is to shoot. Controlling the ship is easy, and dodging enemy fire is relatively simple at first. However, as you defeat each wave, things get harder.
Survive for as long as you can
Every new wave of hostile space crafts either comes in greater numbers or spawns tougher ships. To keep a bit of balance between you and the enemy, powerups appear and collecting them increases the firepower of your ship, as well as adds features to it.
Of you get hit while carrying upgrades, they are reduced until you are left with your basic weapon. One more hit after that, and it’s game over.
Conclusion
All in all, LaserAge Gold is old, and its design isn’t all that appealing. However, if you’re into sci-fi shooters, this one might work for you. It’s decent enough and it quickly turns into a bullet hell kind of game.
