Description
Kingdom Forge is a game of which you have certainly seen the likes before. Initially, this genre started out as a browser based strategy game where you had to manage a kingdom’s resource production to the point where you could train an army and conquer adjacent lands.
Gameplay that is accessible to everyone
Kingdom Forge displays simple graphics which allow it to be played on just about any computer without the need of even a mid-ranged hardware configuration. If you’re new to this type of game, a short but consistent tutorial is provided after you first log into the game.
You will see a ‘City Hall’ structure that is surrounded by multiple tiles where you can build the production, research and economic structures you need. Space is limited so you need to carefully consider what buildings are relevant and which aren’t. These can be upgraded to increase their production and to unlock new units and research possibilities, but as you increase the level of your buildings, each new upgrade takes a lot more time to complete.
Build an army and begin your quest for conquest
Apart from other similar releases, in Kingdom Forge your armies don’t take time to create. Instead, each soldier starts off as a trainee and these are generated at a fixed number per day depending on the level of your ‘Soldier Camps’.
Another thing that Kingdom Forge provides is the possibility to see a representation of the actual battle. Your armies are represented in groups and you can see them fight it out on the battlefield. The animations aren’t impressive but it is a nice touch to the game that makes it less tedious.
Choose a hero and train him to his full potential
Your kingdom can train and supply a large number of heroes, it’s up to you to plan your conquering strategy, whether you want to use a single hero with a large army or several ones with fewer but elite units.
To wrap it up, Kingdom Forge is a decent game when compared to other similar games. It’s the casual game you can play whenever you get a few minutes free in your day and unwind.
