Description

Angry Birds inspired many similar games over the years, mainly thanks to the highly adaptable gameplay mechanics and the great template when it comes to level design. Hence, you can change a few things around and come up with a different type of game, which appeals to a pretty large community of gamers and can bring decent profits if marketed right.

Help the zombies reach the medicine

Zomback 2 is a simple puzzle game in which you have to help zombie heads roll around various environments in order to reach the antidote that cures them and makes them human again. In short, the gameplay is very similar to Angry Birds, except that you do not fling the zombie heads around. Instead, you have to use gravity to achieve your goals, as well as inertia and quick reflexes.
The main gameplay mechanics are based on the fact that you can destroy wooden boxes by clicking on them. By doing this in a calculated manner, you have to roll the zombie heads through a variety of obstacles and moving platforms. Unfortunately, the physics are not always accurate or predictable, which can cause quite a bit of frustration sometimes.

Decent graphics and challenging levels

Since the stages gradually get more difficult, you have to make due with the annoying physics and learn how to take advantage of various flaws. It’s not something most people would bother doing, but then again it’s always nice to find a way to solve problems. In addition, the overall idea is actually quite enjoyable, since it appeals to your creative side. On the other hand, most levels seem to have only one viable solution.
Lastly, the graphics are Flash-based and quite simple, sporting unimpressive backgrounds and colorful objects that decorate the levels. There’s nothing worthy of mention in this regard, but you can overlook this fact if you concentrate on beating the stages. The sound effects are fairly basic too, but those can easily be disabled if you find them to be too annoying.

A nice attempt with poor execution

All things considered, Zomback 2 had a pretty good shot at glory, but the annoying and unpredictable mechanics make it difficult to enjoy most of the time. Hence, maybe the next episode is going to fix some of these issues and provide you with a much more entertaining experience.
