Description
Typing games can be very useful if you want to improve your typing speed and achieve a better WPM count. On top of that, there are many dedicated applications that can help you with this, although it’s much more fun if everything is designed to feel like a game. On the other hand, a serious approach can be more beneficial, and it also helps if the interface looks more professional.
Tap on aliens and earn coins
Typing Alien Tycoon is a very simple game that aims to help you improve your typing speed and have a bit of fun at the same time. Unfortunately, it needs a lot more work in order to become the kind of game people would want to play, because at the moment it lacks too many features, and it also looks quite rough, interface-wise.
One of the mini-games included is about typing, and it’s basically an endless challenge that provides you with scrambled letters and you have to type them as fast as you can. Each correct answer rewards you with coins, and there are multiple difficulty levels to choose from. The only thing that changes is the fact that you have to type more letters at a time, although you also receive more coins on higher difficulty levels.
Hoard as many coins as you can
These coins may seem pretty important at first, but they are only used to purchase aliens, which do not seem to have any practical use, except that you collect them. There are multiple alien “models†to choose from, and they all cost different amounts of coins. However, it’s easy to get thousands of coins by simply playing the tapping game, because each click is worth a certain amount.
You can increase this amount by upgrading it, and it only takes about two minutes to reach numbers like 15k coins, which allows you to purchase even the most expensive aliens multiple times. Hence, a bit more balancing is needed in this regard, and it would also be a good idea to give these aliens some kind of purpose, otherwise there’s no point in all that effort.
Simple interface and a lack of content
In the end, Typing Alien Tycoon is not exactly a bad idea, but it needs a lot more work before it can be safely called a proper game. It also needs to provide the players with a challenge, because right now everything you do feels like cheating.
