Description
Typefighters is a game that proposes a different type of challenge, that in which you face an opponent to see who can type the fastest using their keyboard. It’s not your everyday game but it certainly has what it takes to keep you connected and set to win.
A great teaching tool for kids or anyone who wants to learn how to type faster
Right off the bat, Typefighters’s biggest potential resides in the fact that it can be a very good tool for teaching kids and even adults how to type faster by using a more appealing method. It displays a minimalistic user interface which focuses every bit of attention on the words that need to be written.
As far as gameplay is concerned, Typefighters offers 8 distinct game modes. Each one has you doing the same task, typing in the displayed word as fast as you can and correctly, but every mode has a different way of presenting the words. They can be displayed in a side scrolling line, they can appear randomly on the screen or they can be written by your opponent and you have to try and mimic the word.
The game offers variety and that certainly makes it interesting. You can choose the dictionary to use, AI difficulty as well as the word length. All of those options (and more) provide you with everything you need to shape the game’s difficulty level according to who’s playing, making it a very good progressive teaching tool.
A well polished product that has a lot more usability than you think
Typefighters might not approach a popular genre in the gaming world but as far as what it can do for you, it’s better than a lot of games. ‘Ok, so what can I use it for, is something you’ve probably asked yourself from the very first lines that described what Typefighters is.
Well, that kind of depends on your creativity. Apart from teaching you or others how to type faster, you can host an online game with a college colleague and see who can write Dihydroxybenzophenone the fastest. You see, the game allows you to add custom dictionaries that you can fill with words which you might need to learn for a chemistry exam or something similar, and we all know that writing something sticks in your memory a lot better than just reading it.
Or, to keep things simple, you can play it for the sake of getting a higher score than someone else.
A typing game that’s on the right track
Typefighters is not the only game of its kind but it’s certainly one of the best looking that are out. The way it works is well polished and there’s a very slim chance that you will have any kind of problems with it. So, if you’re willing to learn or just the kind of person who loves any kind of challenge, give it a go.
