Description
There are games you build when you want to learn stuff, and there are games you make when you have too much time on your hands. Sonic and Mario vs. Slenderman is an example of how a game like that might turn out when the two scenarios intertwine.
Simple gameplay for simple times
In Sonic and Mario vs. Slenderman, you can choose to play as either Sonic or Mario. Each one is created to have the retro look, and the rest of the game is modelled to fit that style.
There are no missions or elaborate levels. You get four small arenas in which you get to jump and attack Slender using the abilities of the two main characters. Mario shoots fireballs and Sonic, well, he curls up into his fast-spinning ball of death.
That’s about it, and Slender himself won’t pose much of a challenge. He won’t shoot back, but he will jump around at random and slightly hit you, do a little dance and just move around all the time. He’s unpredictable movement is the only thing that makes the game a bit challenging, or enjoyable for that matter.
It’s just a thing
Sonic and Mario vs. Slenderman is meant to parody Slender and to some extent, it does so. However, it’s something you can barely call a game due to the basic gameplay and overall design.
I don’t see it as being something you play for hours on end. You can’t because it’s just jumping around in the same places over and over again with no gameplay features to make things interesting.
Well, it’s done, Sonic and Mario vs. Slenderman
To end, Sonic and Mario vs. Slenderman is a nice, though, I guess, but it lacks way too many things for it to be good, or even decent for a game. If you’re curious to see how it plays out, try it.
