Hence, silly characters and stories can be a godsend when you need something light to help you forget about trouble and take it easy. Thankfully, there are plenty of them out there if you are willing to make an effort to find them.

Investigate a weird case with the famous detective duo

Romance Detective 2 is the second entry in the visual novel series that presents the adventures of the two girls that form the Romance Detective squad. Just like the first episode, this one allows you to investigate a simple case and make the desired choices in order to influence the story. On the other hand, it’s worth noting that the game is unfinished, and according to the developer it won’t be updated anymore.
In essence, the story revolves a new case for the two partners, and this one takes place at a nearby school. Naturally, the game features casual LGBT content, given the fact that the detectives also form an amorous couple when they are not on the job. It’s not the dirty kind of game, on the other hand, so it doesn’t feature any explicit nudity or anything like that.

Nice artwork and a jolly soundtrack

As always, the game features multiple endings, and it all depends on the choices you make along the way. It’s important that you pay attention to every clue when you investigate crime scenes or you interrogate suspects, although it’s pretty difficult to miss stuff anyway. Hence, it’s more about how you choose to proceed after you manage to gather all the required evidence.
Since the game is not technically complete, you shouldn’t be surprised that some of the scenes have missing artwork or just black and white sketches that look kind of awkward. It’s only a handful of them, on the other hand, so it’s not a major issue. Everything else is great in regards to the graphics, especially when it comes to the cute characters and the colorful environments.

In the end, Romance Detective 2 is not the kind of game that changes your views on life, but it can brighten your day and help you see life through different eyes. Hence, if you light bright colors and simple stories, this is as enjoyable as it gets in the genre.
