Description
Meet Adina, a wolf astronomer who sets off on an adventure through a mysterious and dangerous forest on a cold night. Follow her path as she makes her way through thick snow, blizzards and some really strange conversations.
A wonderfully written story that’s delivered as an excellent little game
Lost Constellation is an adventure game with some platforming features and various puzzles to solve. However, the graphics and soundtrack make it feel like you’re in a visual novel and not necessarily a game. It looks like a children’s book but the story often contradicts that aspect thanks to its many different layers of narration.
You control the little wolf and have her interact with the world around with a handful of keys and a few clicks. This allows you to focus on gameplay but mostly on the dialogue between Adina and the strange yet interesting woodland creatures which she encounters.
An absolute pleasure from start to finish
Lost Constellation’s appealing minimalistic design, great selection of colors, smooth effects, immersive soundtrack and, last but certainly not least, the dialogue make it simply wonderful. The events gets strange at times and you might fade in and out of the idea that this is a harmless story about talking animals that live in a magical forest.
And speaking of, the characters in Lost Constellation are a total delight. Given the option, you’ll want to keep talking to them until there’s nothing new to read because there is a lot of humor, cleverness and depth to what they have to say. Lost Constellation certainly is created by gifted people.
The only focus of the game isn’t a story that’s being told in a really good way, you also have a fair share of interesting puzzles to solve. They’re a bit low on the difficulty scale but then again they’re purpose is to connect you a bit more to the events that unfold before you.
Easily one of the most relaxing and enjoyable games you can play
On a closing note, Lost Constellation is great. Worth mentioning is that it is a side story to Night in The Wood in which the protagonist is Mae, the eager cat that pops up when the main story kind of sidetracks.
