Description
As many games proved before, it would seem like even the simplest ideas can have huge ripples and a massive fan base. On the other hand, it’s important that the concept is original, because people are pretty tired of the same thing revamped every couple of months. Hence, creative developers always have a shot at greatness if they put their ideas into practice.
Explore mazes and find the exit button
Find The Button! is an exploration game in which your only task is to walk until you find a button that allows you to move on to the next stage. It may sound simple in theory, but the experience can be very challenging, not to mention time-consuming. However, those who enjoy putting their patience to the test should feel right at home from the first few minutes of gameplay.
It’s worth noting right off the bat that the game is in a pretty rough state at the moment and there are many missing or broken components. Even so, the collection of levels is pretty interesting, even if some of them are frustrating for no reason. In fact, sometimes the difficulty level is artificially inflated by making the button the same color as the environment, which is neither fun nor challenging, just annoying.
A few bugs and inconveniences to watch out for
As mentioned before, there are some bugs that need to be fixed before the game can be declared decent. The first and most annoying thing is that there’s no return to menu option once you start playing, nor a quit button to let you exit the game. Both would be nice to have, especially since the game technically allows you to choose the desired level from the menu.
There’s also the problem that the last level is not accessible for some reason, since clicking on it takes you to the previous stage. Other than that, you can still have some fun with the game, at least if you do not get easily bored and annoyed. The graphics are indeed pretty simple and impressive, but the whole point is to solve mazes and find that pesky button.
A promising idea that needs more work
In the end, all hope is not lost for Find The Button!, because the situation can be saved with just a little more work and dedication. As such, the core concept is pretty engaging, and it should attract a decent player base once the game is complete.
