Description
CroNix is another title meant to spice up the MOBA scene. It pitches its players into fast-paced arena teamfights over three distinct modes. There are several of characters to choose from, plenty of cosmetics to try out and of course, a lot of fighting.
A good looking game that started off on the right foot
Visually, CroNix is right on the money for a free to play game. It’s build using Unreal Engine and you know things are going to look good and animations will be smooth. As for the characters, you have soldiers, cyborgs, brawlers and other kinds of warriors that seem perfect for this kind of game.
Each one has his or her unique skills which you can use to deliver some pretty devastating combos or combine them with those of your team for more efficiency. What’s interesting in CroNix is that you can boost each skill depending on your energy levels.
It’s in its early stages of life but playable and enjoyable
At a first glance, CroNix doesn’t really bring anything new to the table but it certainly feels different. Its main focus is on combat, how it works and how it feels. In both cases it’s right down the middle because everything works just fine, hits look great, effects are pleasant to look at, skill sequences make sense but it has its moments when it feels kind of sluggish.
However, that also has a lot to do with the character you’re playing and how used you are to it. You’ll find that each one needs to be handled differently in a fight and that’s actually really good because you won’t get the sense that if you’ve mastered one character you’ll be a pro with the rest too.
An arena game that allows you to counter each pick from the opposing team
Even though it’s not a premiere, CroNix allows you to pick a different character each time you respawn, that is, if you want to. This actively enables you to counter any of your opponents thus giving your team the upper edge, however, the other team can do the same. It’s a nice feature to have and it certainly makes sure that things remain interesting.
So, to sum things up, CroNix is worth a shot if you’re into arena style games. Undoubtedly it needs a good dose of polishing up, more diversity in the shop and a few other things but gameplay is solid and definitely on the right track.
