Description
Crime is not for everyone, at least not as a full-time job. Almost every outlaw is captured sooner or later, at least as far as we know. On the other hand, it also depends on what kind of crime you decide to commit, because some attract more attention than others. Still, it takes both luck and skill to get good at something in the field, and it’s not worth the trouble.
Break into a building and steal the loot
Crime Crew is a stealth game in which you control a team of highly-trained thieves, each one of which has a particular set of skills that come in handy during the missions. It is mandatory that you use all of them, otherwise you’ll quickly fail the mission and get caught before reaching the target. The main concerns are guards, locked doors and cameras, all of which can be disabled or tricked.
The ultimate goal is to break into Old Rich Bastard’s house and get to the vault, where money and every other kind of wealth is stored. Your team contains a locksmith, a spy and a hacker, and their skills are rather obvious. The locksmith deals with locked doors, the spy distracts the guards by engaging them in conversation, while the hacker neutralizes cameras and various other sensors.
Annoying camera angles and lackluster level design
There are some problems with the game, the most annoying of which is the camera. Since you are not allowed to pan the view or zoom out/in, you are stuck with the default angle the developers have chosen, and it’s not always a pleasure. There are walls blocking your view, not to mention the fact that you cannot see what waits for your around the next corner.
You case you get caught, it is mandatory that you retry the entire level, which is obviously quite a bother. The first few stages are quite short and straightforward, but the further you reach, the more intricate they get. The graphics are nothing out of the ordinary either, since the character design is pretty blocky, and the level design lacks any kind of personality to make you remember the experience.
A nice distraction for quiet afternoons
All things considered, Crime Crew is not as attractive as you initially might think, because there are a few problems to deal with. As long as the issues are ironed out in time, on the other hand, this could turn into something a lot more entertaining.
