Description
2048 is a game that has taken the mobile world by storm and created a brief trend around its gameplay. It’s a simple math puzzle game that revolves around adding pairs of numbers until you reach the value 2048. In this version, you can go past that number.
Play 2048 on your PC
2048 is aimed to bring the game to laptops and PCs and just that. It doesn’t add anything interesting to the original, and it certainly doesn’t shine on its own. The game features a simple and comprehensive GUI, and the arrow keys are used as the controls.
You start the game with tiles of 2, and as you slide them left or right, up and down, you add their values and multiply them until you hopefully get to at least 2048. That’s it and not much more. Apart from the ‘Undo’ feature, 2048 doesn’t offer any other functions. It doesn't even have any kind of audio effects.
Built so you can have something to waste time with
2048 for mobile allowed you to save your progress, and so does this adaptation. With a simple click, you can save the current layout of the board and later on, when you want to, resume it. Note that when doing that, it creates a file that you have to save on your computer.
Regardless of how good you are, and how fast your mind can calculate, try not to move the tiles too quick, the game tends to freeze when you give it too many commands. It’s best you save your progress from time to time to avoid this.
Conclusion
To end, 2048 is a generic recreation of the original game. It has two levels of Undo for you to take advantage of, a comprehensive interface, and that’s it.
