Description
Cats are pretty crafty when it comes to climbing on things and finding the most hidden places for naps, but they can also get disoriented if they happen to wake up in an unknown area. Thus, there are plenty of lost cats out there, some of which happen to find new masters out on the street, while others turn into strays and manage to stay alive by eating scraps.
Help Tito find its owner as quickly as possible
Tito - The Lost Cat is a simple adventure game in which you play the role of a cat lost on the streets, with the obvious goal being to reunite the said cat with its owner. The game was designed in a very short time for a jam competition, so it’s only natural that it features very simple gameplay mechanics and not a lot of content.
On the other hand, it can keep you entertained for a few minutes if you have enough patience to move around a pretty simple map, but the controls can be a tad too annoying to be enjoyable for very long. It also gets very repetitive after a point, mainly because there are only two or three actions you can undertake as you walk around the neighborhood.
Ask strangers for food so you don’t starve
Since it might take you a while to locate your owner, Tito must be kept fed and healthy until then, which is why you can ask strangers for food. In fact, it’s required that you do so, because you can only last a few seconds until the hunger bar goes empty and you find yourself in an awkward situation. On the other hand, all you need to do is press Space once you are near a stranger in order to get food.
As for the graphics, the game uses a low-poly style that goes very well with the overall atmosphere and feel of the situation. On top of that, the colors are very smooth and pleasant, even if they can be a tad too bright sometimes. It’s also worth mentioning that the level design is a bit empty sometimes, and the camera angle is very annoying, especially since it cannot be changed at all.
A cute game for rainy afternoons
In the end, Tito - The Lost Cat is not the kind of game that provides you with hours of content, but it can be a nice distraction when you need a bit of color in your life. In addition, the graphics are pretty pleasant as well.
