The Rolling Cube

The Rolling Cube is a simple and annoying puzzle game that requires a lot more thinking that you would imagine.
Moving a cube around a board might not seem like a difficult thing to do, but it turns out that you can take a really simple concept and make it incredibly difficult. The idea is to pick up all of the colors from the board with the least amount of moves possible.
It might be a trivial task, but if you go in blindly, you’re going to have a bad time. When you just rolled the cube for the hundredth time, you start to picture the fact that you need a strategy. Unfortunately, there is no reset button, so the only way to start from the begging to quit or to finish the current game.

Gameplay

The grid in The Rolling Cube is always different, and it’s generated on the spot. There are six green patches, and you have a cube that’s completely white. When you move the cube over one patch of colored board, you will pick up that color.
Simple enough, right? Well, here is the kicker. If you happen to move over a white piece of board with the colored part of the cube, you will lose that color. This means that you need to plan the steps before you start making them, especially if you aim to get on that scoreboard.
The Rolling Cube is a really simple game, and the graphics match the idea. You won’t find amazing graphics, but that’s to be expected since it’s built on Adobe Air. Don’t worry; you won’t have to do anything extra, just follow the installation instructions and the dependencies will install on their own.
The Rolling Cube is a great tool for learning and it’s great for small kids if you want to teach them to think before they act. It requires much more intelligence than it lets on, but you will remember when you manage to roll that cube correctly for the first time, and that’s all that matters.
