Description
If you are a fan of online shooters, then you know how many people prefer the sniper role if the game has this feature. It’s not difficult to understand why, because most people prefer to remain hidden and strike from a distance instead of charging into the enemy lines. However, this can break the game every now and again, especially when everyone sits quietly in a corner waiting for an easy kill.
Hunt your prey from the safety of the roof
Sniper Kills is a first-person shooter that puts you in the role of a sniper with a simple mission: kill as many enemies as possible within the time limit. As you might have guessed, the game is very basic in every regard, especially when it comes to gameplay and the ballistics system. On the other hand, it can help you have a few minutes of fun whenever you need it.
You start on the roof of a building, and that’s where you stay for the entire duration of the game, because you lack the ability to move. The sniper obviously has a scope, so the basic idea is to scour the ground below and shoot down every enemy that enters your sights. You don’t have to worry about ammunition, wind direction or anything else.
No need to worry about being spotted
Unfortunately, there’s not much of a challenge when it comes to the gameplay, because you can do as much noise as possible without worrying about alerting the enemies. In fact, you can gun down entire groups of enemies and they won’t even notice their colleagues falling down in front of them. Obviously, this makes the game feel cheap and easy, which substantially reduces its lasting appeal.
As for the graphics, the game is not ugly per se, but the technology used to render the graphics is fairly basic. Thankfully, this means that you can run it on almost any computer, even if you do not own a powerful PC. On the other hand, there’s little room for such basic graphics in this day and age, especially since even on-board chipsets are capable of dealing with much better-looking games.
A bit of fun that turns sour after a few minutes of gameplay
In the end, Sniper Kills fails to remain entertaining for more than a few minutes, but that should be enough to help you have some fun. Thus, it could certainly be improved with more content and variety in the future.
