Little Fighter 2

Little Fighter 2 is a rather old fighting game that won its fans thanks to the large number of fighters that it made available and the possibility to duke it out in teams of two. Its time has long passed but for the nostalgics, or those who are looking for a retro fighter, it’s still a good choice.

You might get off on the wrong foot with it but things get better as you play

The first thing you want to do after you enter Little Fighter 2 and want to play solo is change the keyboard layout. Since the game was thought out to house four players on the same keyboard who could play at the same time, controls can be a bit cluttered and counterintuitive.
Once you get that out of the way, you can choose from one of its several game modes, VS, Stage, Championship and Battle, and start enjoying the large number of anime inspired characters. Each one has his unique fighting style and there are plenty of moves to pull off by pressing certain sequences of keys.
Computer adversaries set at ‘difficult’ level will initially mop the ring with you but once you familiarize yourself with combo execution, things get better. Little Fighter 2 really is a game with which you need to be patient and you have to give it a real shot before you can enjoy it.

A game that offers plenty of fighting chaos

One of the most enjoyable things about Little Fighter 2 is the fact that four people can brawl and shoot at each other at the same time. Of course, when you and your buddies are kids, fitting four pairs of hands on the same keyboard is relatively easy but once you grow up, playing like that is just terrible.
For this reason, Little Fighter 2 is fitted with controller support, enabling you to connect four controllers to your PC to play. This is a great feature to have since the game also supports LAN battles between your team and another.
Little Fighter 2 is pretty fast-paced and if you don’t pay attention to what you’re doing, you can easily end up defeated. In PvP mode it’s fun but in 4v4 it’s ridiculous and things get chaotically fun quite fast.

One for the nostalgics or those who are looking for a different fighting game

On a closing note, Little Fighter 2 does need some big updates because it’s been left behind a lot in the last years. It crashes a lot and there are plenty of bugs that really affect gameplay. However, you could get lucky and not have to deal with any of that and that’s when you see how fun Little Fighter 2 can be.
