Description
Joe's Farm is a nice little game that challenges you to solve some puzzles that are based on the popular Sokoban title. The game is more or less a remake of the aforementioned classic that is brought into the 3D world.
A collection of challenging puzzles to solve
As it was mentioned above, Joe's Farm is Sokoban but with better looks, that depending on what you consider good looks to be. By today’s standards, the game might not be all that appealing from a visual point of view but the puzzles are the real deal.
In each round, you have a fixed number of boxes and an equal number of marked spots that are located on the ground. Your job is to move all the boxes onto those markings. The catch is that you can only push boxes so if you mistakenly move one into a corner, you might have to restart the level.
It’s meant to be tough but not impossible
If you find yourself in a predicament as the one mentioned above, when there is no way of moving a crate, you can use the 'Undo' feature. With a simple press of a key, the game enables you to undo as many steps as you need; you can even rewind back to the start of the level.
In doing so, you forfeit the bonus points but at least you don’t have to start all over. Joe's Farm is a challenging game because Sokoban was, and still is, but it’s not meant to be downright punishing. At one point, if you don’t figure out the movements quickly, you can just try every combination until you get it right. Although, when it comes to large levels, that solution could be frustrating.
A nice game for the casual puzzle fans
Joe's Farm is now a free game but please be careful when installing it. It uses a downloader and an installer, and you might end up with a new homepage or clicking on some uninteresting adds. However, if you get past that, which is not something difficult, you can surely find some enjoyment with Joe's Farm.
