Description
Chronoclysm, a game that’s ‘plenty of clever’ and ‘loads of tough’. Within its lightweight packaging and beneath some really good retro graphics lie two game modes that are a blast to play whether you want to just have fun or stretch your mind a bit.
Great things come in small packages
Chronoclysm is something rather unexpected in the sense that it’s tougher than it looks. In the singleplayer challenge mode you have to eliminate a series of targets, which sounds simple enough, but when you destroy one, another appears in a distant location. The tricky part is that you will have to get to all of them before the time runs out, and you get a really short amount of that.
The key is to use different classes of heroes to reach the targets but the great part is that they can overlap actions on the same level. For example, the targets that can’t be reached with the knight can be destroyed by the mage or the builder. In Chronoclysm you will have to use all the characters and combine their efforts to pass each level, and it is harder than it sounds, which is great.
Multiplayer that promises tons of fun and the occasional raging
Chronoclysm supports up to four players, two on keyboard and two on controllers and you get to choose from a decent number of modes. You can see who’s best in a deathmatch, fastest in a capture the crystals type of thing or see who can hold the crown for the longest time. There are several arena types to play and other little game customizations to make in order to lower or raise the stakes of each match.
In its small form, Chronoclysm brings a lot of content for those who enjoy a good brain tease as well as spending casual time with friends. It takes you a bit a first to get a handle on how things work and how to play your strategy but once that’s done, it gets really fun.
One that’s neat, clever and entertaining
To sum things up, play Chronoclysm. Alone or with a buddy or two, it’s a great way to kickback and enjoy a lazy Sunday. Moreover, it’s a free game and a really good one at that. So, download it, give a run or two, or twenty and if you enjoy it, feel free to show your support by making a small donation for Chronoclysm’s future development.
