Description
BowMaster Prelude is a nice little casual game in which you have to fight to defend your castle from incoming waves of enemy soldiers. The game is Flash powered and should run on any PC as long as you have the runtime installed.
Simple gameplay for casual fun
Being a Flash game, BowMaster Prelude doesn’t impress with graphics but they are clean and look rather nice. The goal of each round is to defend your castle from the enemy hordes that are on their way to attack it.
At first, you must rely only on your arrow tower and your aiming skills to shoot arrows at the incoming enemy forces. It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it and it certainly helps if you have a keen sense of observation. Your most recent shots are marked by the game allowing you to fine-tune the trajectory of your projectiles.
Completing a round grants you gold according to your performance and you can use it to purchase new types of arrows. These do much more damage than the standard ones or are imbued with various powers that can slow down your enemies or heal allies.
Hire soldiers to aid you in battle
In BowMaster Prelude, as you get some extra cash you can choose to spend it on improved arrows or you can buy the help of some trained warriors. There are archers, mages, catapults and axe wielding men that can do a lot of damage to your enemies and even counter their offensive.
Warriors are summoned automatically after you purchase them but they can also be canceled if you’re planning a delayed attack. A nice little mechanic in the game is that apart from killing adversaries, your arrows can seriously hurt your allies so you need to be careful how you aim.
A nice game for fans of the genre
On a closing note, BowMaster Prelude is a good game to have around on a slow Friday. The game isn’t all that fast-paced and it does require a good amount of patience from your but it gets the job done if you’re looking to relax.
