Description
Being a king is not as easy as you might believe, and it certainly wasn’t back when kings actually had some power. Besides the fact that every enemy considered you a high profile target, the people you had to rule over had many demands and requests as well. Ignoring them could cause a revolution, or even worse, a mutiny.
Respond to every request with yes or no
Sort the Court! is a fun game in which you get to play the role of a monarch trying to lead over a growing kingdom. Even if it’s small and rather poor at first, you can make a lot of progress with the right decisions, but it’s definitely not as easy as it sounds. In fact, you’ll have to leave everything to chance every once in awhile, especially if you happen to run out of gold.
The whole gimmick is that you can only answer yes or no to every question, which is both hilarious and difficult at the same time. It’s easy when the question is formulated properly, such as when the cat asks you to feed it, but it’s a lot harder when you are not sure what people want from you. Dragons, vampires, wizards and talking treasure chests are all part of the adventure, and you have to deal with each one of them accordingly.
Gather gold and make people happy
In order to avoid losing the game, you must do two things: keep a stacked treasury and try to please as many people as possible. Sometimes, you’ll have to choose between the two, such as when monsters ask you for villagers in return for money, but it all depends on how your stats are sitting at that moment. Hence, it may sometimes be worth to lose a few people if you can gain enough gold in return.
As far as the technical aspects of the game are concerned, the graphics are about as basic as you would expect them to be, but beautiful nonetheless. The hand-drawn artwork is simple, yet engaging, not to mention funny. Furthermore, the sound effects are hilarious as well, although maybe a little repetitive after a while, especially the music.
The perfect way to relax and have a laugh
In the end, Sort the Court! is an incredibly fun and engaging game, since you can have a laugh and work very hard to keep your population happy at the same time. Thus, this can certainly keep you happy for a while, and it would be nice to see more content in the future.
