Description
Being a scientist is considered a pretty cool job, at least in certain regards. No one thinks about them as being very hardcore, on the other hand, since most people imagine scientists as men in white coats doing experiments in the laboratory. However, there are plenty of branches to science, including engineering, robotics, and various other domains that are much more hands-on.
Drive a car through the wilderness
Offroad Scientist is a driving game that puts you in the role of a scientist gone mad, who decides to get in a car and equip it with all sorts of weapons in order to destroy the big corporations and the government who spies on its people. Naturally, it’s a pretty wild idea, but as long as you have fun it doesn’t really matter what the background story is.
In essence, the game is very early in the development stage, which means that lacks a lot of features that would make it a more original production. Hence, there’s not a lot of action as of right now, since the only thing you can do is drive around the environment in your jeep and try to navigate obstacles are carefully as possible. On the other hand, even that can be fun if you have the right mindset for it.
Neat graphics and smooth controls
The controls are very important in a driving game, because frustration kicks in rather quickly if you are too busy trying to master the clunky steering system. Thankfully, everything seems to be in order in this case, which is why you can enjoy yourself by trying to conquer the most difficult hills and valleys. More fun features are planned for the future, including vehicle upgrades and other goodies.
As for the graphics, the game uses Unity as its engine, so you can rest assured that it can be made to look pretty awesome. In fact, the game looks decent even in this unpolished phase, which is saying something. Granted, the environment can be a tad empty sometimes, especially since there are invisible walls to deal with as well.
A promising game that needs more content
All in all, Offroad Scientist is certainly unique concept, but not at the moment. Hence, a lot of the features that would make it unique are not implemented yet, so we can only hope that future versions are going to be as fun as the developer promises.
