Some people have good ideas when it comes to reinventing a classic game, or adding one extra piece one mechanic that completely changes the gameplay for the better. That’s exactly what happened with Not Pacman.

What if Pac-Man was more like a washing machine?

The gameplay to Not Pacman is exactly like that in the timeless classic except for one thing. Neither Pac-Man nor the ghosts can move, and you have to rotate the maze to guide the yellow pellet muncher.
The good part is that this makes Not Pacman a lot tougher to play, the bad part is that this makes Pac-Man really tough to play. Since you have no real control over anything, you have to work hard to make sure Pac-Man goes where he has to without chaotically rolling into his enemies.

Roll roll, roll your Pac-Man, gently down the maze

In Not Pacman, things get crazy fast. A lot of the time, you’ll fight between a gameplay of fineness or speed. None of them will work for sure so you’ll have to do your best and hope for more than that.
Regardless of how you play it, while you do, it’s a lot of fun. It’s exactly what Pac-Man is with just one simple modification that completely transforms how you play it. It certainly puts a nice twist to the classic.

An entertaining alternative to the original

To end, Not Pacman is a very nice variation to the arcade giant. It’s a step up in difficulty and one more when it comes to fun. It’s not better than the real deal but it’s probably its favorite cousin.
