Description
As a child, being afraid of the dark, of monsters under the bed or in the closet is something common, expected. But what happens if there actually are monsters in your room? It Moves is a game that takes you into the life of a little boy and drags you into his nightmares from which you must escape.
A game that succeeds in creating an eerie atmosphere
It Moves isn’t about big scares, dismembered bodies, and general gore, no, it’s not that kind of horror. It actually has a little bit of Silent Hill going on for it and that applies to the atmosphere.
The game features some excellent audio effects that seem to perfectly fit each moment of the game, they are crisp, clear and well engineered. Throughout the game, as you dive deeper into the twisted nightmares new audio effects are added and, It Moves gets new layers of creepy, stacked one on top of the other, which is great.
Escaping a nightmare isn’t easy, especially in It Moves
As far as the story goes, It Moves is quite good. Dialogue between characters won’t be mind blowing but the segments in which the little boy speaks his mind and describes what is happening are very good. And for a horror game that relies on atmosphere, that really makes a difference.
Each nightmare you enter will plunge you into a place that’s more or less a labyrinth. There will be a couple of puzzles to solve and what’s also great about It Moves is that they are somewhat difficult and not repetitive.
You might not jump out of your seat but it will make you uncomfortable
Appreciating It Moves solely relies on how you perceive and process fear. The game provides everything needed to stir interest in all kinds of horror lovers.
It has suspense, plenty of tense moments, strange creatures that spawn around, a very good soundtrack and most importantly, a well written story that keeps you going, wanting to find out how everything ends.
