Sonic 2 HD

Right off the bat, if you’re looking for a free, fan-made recreation of the popular Sonic game for Sega that looks totally great, then you should stop at this one, Sonic 2 HD. It’s a game built using vector based graphics and aims to recreate the feel and look of Sonic 2 as if it was first built only recently.

A great rendition of the popular speed platformer

Like in the 1992 title, Sonic the Hedgehog is accompanied by , Miles "Tails" Prower and both have to do their best to stop doctor Robotnik from taking over the world.
Sonic has the same well know skills, he can run at incredible speeds, jump very high and uses spin dash to eliminate enemy critters and unlock powerups. In terms of gameplay, Sonic 2 HD is just as much as Sonic 2 is, unless you’re a diehard fan of the original, in which case you will certainly see differences, aside from the visual aspect, of course.

Colorful, fast and totally entertaining

Sonic 2 is well known for the fast speeds at which you can complete levels and the intricacy behind some of their designs. Sonic 2 HD aims to reestablish the same quality and offers an equal and in some ways better interpretation of the original.
There are plenty of loops to go through, complex sequences of jumps to pull off in order to get the max amount of rings, and of course, plenty of enemies to eliminate or dodge. Sonic 2 HD also remembers that there were a lot of secrets to discover in each world and it makes them available too. You only have to find them.

On a closing note, Sonic 2 HD is by all means a great game to try out if you like Sonic. It looks good, it plays better and it really succeeds in recreating some of the charm of the original Sonic 2 game.
