Description
Riding a motorcycle can be quite dangerous, regardless of how experienced you are or how clear the road is. Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye, and there’s not much of a chance for the rider if he hits a solid object at high speed. On the other hand, it’s all about prevention and caution, because most accidents can be avoided under normal conditions.
Explore an empty city and push your bike to the limit
Biker Simulator is a basic racing game in which you get to ride a motorcycle through an empty city and admire the view while trying to avoid accidents. There’s nothing to do but ride, given the fact that there are no missions and no actual races to participate in, but the experience can be relatively calming. Even so, the lack of a purpose prevents the game from being fun for more than a few minutes at a time.
To begin with, the bike itself handles very poorly, since you cannot steer properly or negotiate corners, regardless of your speed. A simple tap on a directional key can send your bike into a fit, and the physics are very disappointing as well. In short, the only way you can be certain of your direction is if you are going in a straight line, which is rarely the case anyway.
Poor graphics and annoying camera view
One of the most annoying things about the game is the camera, because you cannot see the road properly because of it. Granted, there is no traffic to worry about, which is yet another problem, but it feels very awkward to ride around without seeing where you are going. As mentioned before, the controls make the job even more difficult, especially if you are trying to make a turn.
Lastly, the graphics are about as disappointing as you can expect, but they don’t matter as much in this case. The empty streets and indigo buildings could be a bother if the rest of the gameplay were more exciting, but in this case it feels weirdly fitting. Naturally, the sound effects are laughable as well, but at least they can be easily disabled.
A poor simulator and a fun-less arcade game
All things considered, Biker Simulator is not a fun arcade game with fast bikes and simple controls, nor a simulator that provides you with an accurate depiction of what it would be like to ride a bike. Hence, you are disappointed no matter what expectations you have from the game.
